The Jumpstart course was conceived and designed by Jerry Muelver [[user:jmuelver]]. The outline and many of the lessons were written by Jerry Muelver. The staff of the Liberty BASIC Programmer's Encyclopedia is modifying the course and will be adding lessons with Jerry's permission and help.

This tutorial, **Jumpstart for Beginners: Programming Concepts**, is intended for complete beginners who are interested in learning about computer programming. ** Jumpstart** will not teach you everything you need to land a job as a programmer, but it ** will** help you:

* practice using those concepts
* add to your knowledge step-by-step 
* write real programs in ** Liberty BASIC**, a real programming language
